Gift Wrap Ideas: Using Everyday Materials

Here are 5 super simple gift wrapping ideas. All of these use less than 5 materials and you most likely have these everyday materials hanging around your house. Now you can put them to good use and dress up your gifts this season, without breaking the bank. I promise all of these take less than 15 minutes to wrap!

Simply Gifted: Gift wrapping idea using newspaper and rubber bands.

Materials needed:
• Newspaper
• Rubber bands
• Tape
• Box
• Homemade gift tag (optional)
I bet you have some newspaper laying around. I might have a little bit too much, since I work at a newspaper. I paired the newspaper covered box with some leftover rubber bands from the grocery store (I have so many, I never know what to do with them!) and a homemade gift tag.

Simply Gifted: Gift wrapping idea using old junk mail envelopes.

Materials
• Junk mail envelope
• Tape
• Box (optional)
Have you ever noticed the awesome graphic pattern inside junk mail envelopes? Well, if you haven't before, I bet you will now! I unfolded an envelope and reused it to wrap a small box. You could also unfold an envelope and refold it with the pattern on the outside.

Simply Gifted: Gift wrapping idea using paper berry baskets and tissue paper.

Materials needed:
• Paper berry basket
• Tissue paper
• String
I always have an abundance of berry baskets after grocery shopping. I love the look of them, so I started collected them to use for gifting. Super easy to wrap your gift in tissue paper, tie with string and pop in the basket!

Simply Gifted: Gift wrapping idea using mesh fruit bags and tissue paper.

Materials needed:
• Mesh fruit/vegetable bag
• Tissue paper
• String
Another super easy wrapping idea, this time using the mesh bags that fruit and veggies come in. This one came from a bag of yellow onions. I wrapped the gift in tissue paper, placed in the bag and tied with string!

Simply Gifted: Gift wrapping idea using plastic fruit containers and tissue paper.

Materials needed:
• Plastic fruit container
• Tissue paper
• String
• Homemade gift tag (optional)
More grocery store finds make great gift containers! I've always wanted to find a way to reuse the plastic containers that my berries and tomatoes come in. Well, here we go! You can have lots of fun with this one since you can see through the container. I wrapped a gift in silver wrapping paper, placed in the container, tied with string and topped it off with another homemade gift tag!
