Chris and I were cleaning out our storage closet and he pulled out an entire box of old CDs and cases. There was no point in keeping the plastic cases so we threw those out but kept the CDs. Little did Chris know that I kept the cover art! So sneaky. I had an idea to turn the CD covers into a nice piece of wall art and I thought it would make a good two-year anniversary gift.
I was definitely winging this project. I wasn't exactly sure how to accomplish what I envisioned. I thought purchasing a poster frame at Target would cut down on the price. The mat seemed like it would be too big of a challenge to pull off myself so I decided to stop by the local frame store. The guy at the store charged me $4 per square which turned out to be $100 after taxes. I think that was worth not having to cut that many squares by hand.
Frame $23 + Custom Mat $100 = $123
This was one of my favorite projects to see come together. I had a lot of fun going through the CD covers, making sure to grab some by his favorite artists. I decided to do a white, black and red color scheme. It took a while to arrange them but it was well worth it!
